Qlayers

Qlayers is a Dutch high-tech start-up, providing robotic solutions that enable contractors to apply industrial coatings in an automated manner. Thanks to the patented spray system, the robots allow to paint without any overspray, protecting both workers and the environment from hazardous chemicals. Additionally, the technology ensures a consistent quality while improving worker safety by reducing people working at heights, next to an increased coating speed.

Furthermore, we are developing a technology to apply functional coatings in the form of microstructures inspired by nature. This allows to, for example, apply sharkskin riblets with drag‑reducing properties, which can increase the energy output of wind turbines and reduce fuel consumption of vehicles like container ships or airplanes.
