CASP (Coordinated Activities on the Safety of Products)
Green and Digital Transition
Information
The aim of coordinated activities in the area of product safety across the European Union/EEA is to ensure a safe single market by providing MSA with the necessary tools to jointly test products placed on the Single Market, determine their risks and draw common positions and procedures. Joint testing of products also reduces costs and facilitates coordinated controls based on agreed principles throughout the single market.
Facilitating discussions and knowledge-sharing among national MSA and outreaching to external stakeholders with an active role and obligation to ensure a safe single market is also a fundamental aspect of coordinated activities in this area. These activities must also focus on the evaluation of identified risks of the products tested, to ensure that authorities can take appropriate measures and notify them in Safety Gate/RAPEX.
